Gov. Linda Lingle has ordered Hawai'i and U.S. flags at state and county buildings to fly at half-staff today in honor of Army Spc. Presley Tagaloa.

Tagaloa, 23, of 'Ewa Beach, had been diagnosed with leukemia and died of complications from a bone marrow transplant on April 6 — four days after returning home.

Tagaloa — an Army reservist — had been deployed to Kuwait with Delta Company, 100th Battalion, 442nd Infantry. He helped provide security for convoys heading into southern Iraq.

He will be buried today at the Hawai'i State Veterans Cemetery in Kane'ohe.

A fundraiser is scheduled for Friday at Tiki's Grill & Bar in Waikiki for Tagaloa's wife, Reva, and their two daughters, ages 2 and 3.

A former Farrington High School student and football player, Tagaloa entered the Army in November, 2007.
