$205K grant to help manage Isles' natural resources

Advertiser Staff

The Harold K.L. Castle Foundation has awarded a $205,000 grant to O'ahu Resource Conservation and Development Council to support communities' capacity to manage Hawai'i's natural resources.

The council is partnering with the Hawai'i Community Stewardship Network to help communities restore taro fields, fishponds, marine fisheries, watersheds and cultural trails.

Together they are removing alien species while restoring native species, cultivating fish, providing educational opportunities, reducing conservation violations, monitoring resource conditions and more.
