Environmentalist Seto will discuss marsh preservation

Advertiser Staff

Muriel Seto, a community leader active in efforts to protect Kawai Nui Marsh from development in the 1960s, will discuss strategies and events that led to the preservation of the wetland at 7 p.m. tomorrow at Le Jardin Academy, 917 Kalaniana'ole Highway, at the corner of Kapa'a Quarry Road.

Seto and colleagues established the Kawainui Heritage Foundation that led the push to preserve and restore the marsh.

Today, Kawai Nui Marsh is among the select group of Wetlands of International Importance from around the world.
