LOS ANGELES — Aziz Ansari says he's preparing to host his first awards show, the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, by stalking veteran Oscar host Billy Crystal.

"I'm outside of his house right now," Ansari joked by phone yesterday. "I've just kind of been watching Crystal from afar, outside his property."

MTV said Ansari, the 27-year-old star of NBC's "Parks and Recreation," will host the awards on June 6.

Network general manager Stephen Friedman said viewers loved Ansari on "Human Giant," the sketch comedy show he created, which ran on MTV for two seasons in 2007 and 2008.

Friedman called Ansari the perfect host for "the movie industry's most rebellious night on television."

BROTHER ADMITS MOLESTING MO'NIQUE

CHICAGO — The brother of Oscar winner Mo'Nique said yesterday on Oprah Winfrey's talk show that he molested the actress when they were children and he wants to apologize to her.

Gerald Imes said on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" that the molestation continued for a year or two, starting when he was 13 and Mo'Nique was 7 or 8. He apologized to the actress, saying "I'm sorry, Mo'Nique. I'm sorry."

Imes said he decided to appear on Winfrey's show to apologize to Mo'Nique and bring their family back together. Imes said he himself was molested and he was using drugs and alcohol at age 11.

Winfrey said Mo'Nique didn't want to be a part of the interview but gave Winfrey her blessing.

BROWN TO HOST BENEFIT CONCERT IN VA.

NEW YORK — Chris Brown will headline and host a benefit concert in Virginia next month.

"Virginia Stand Up! A Call to Action" will be May 15 at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. Performers will include Trey Songz, Keri Hilson, T-Pain, Mario and Ryan Leslie.

The 20-year-old R&B singer said in a statement yesterday he wanted to personally contribute to the Haitian relief effort and support an organization that helps people in his home state.

Brown was sentenced last year to five years' probation and six months of community labor after pleading guilty to felony assault for an attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna.

DOUGLAS SAYS FAMILY FAME AFFECTED SON

NEW YORK — Michael Douglas says his family's fame and history of substance abuse helped drive his troubled son into drug addiction and crime, and the Academy Award-winning actor is asking a judge to show leniency toward him.

"I love my son, but I'm not blind to his actions. ... I don't want to see him break," the actor told the federal judge in a handwritten letter made public yesterday, on the eve of Cameron Douglas' sentencing in a drug case.

Cameron Douglas, arrested in July at a Manhattan hotel, admitted in January that he dealt methamphetamine and cocaine. He pleaded guilty to a drug charge that carries a mandatory 10 years in prison.
