NEW YORK (AP) — Boxing is making its long-awaited return to Yankee Stadium, more than three decades after the last fight at the ballpark in the Bronx.

Junior middleweight champion Yuri Foreman and former welterweight champ Miguel Cotto were introduced at a news conference inside the stadium on Friday.

They'll meet June 5 in the first fight at the Yankees' home stadium since Muhammad Ali and Ken Norton fought on Sept. 28, 1976, at the original Yankee Stadium. That ballpark hosted 46 nights of boxing during its 86-year run, including 30 world championship bouts.

The Foreman-Cotto bout will be the first event besides baseball in the opulent, new Yankee Stadium, which opened last spring. College football games and concerts are also planned for later in the year.
