Hello, kitty ... will you have a cup of tea or perhaps a pastry?

The first and only Sanrio-licensed eatery in the U.S. has opened on O'ahu at Pearlridge Center and is located in the area they call "Downtown," on the second level near Sears. The restaurant, owned by Ben Chow and Cyrus Goo (Cafe Laufer), features a menu of pastries, sandwiches and salads that are inspired by Sanrio's world-renowned characters, including Hello Kitty, Pochacco and Keroppi.

The official grand opening is this Saturday, featuring games and special Hello Kitty balloons and costumed characters from 1 to 3 p.m.
