CBKB: Kansas freshman Henry going to NBA

Associated Press

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas freshman Xavier Henry is headed for the NBA draft.

The school announced his decision before a news conference in which Henry planned to announce h is intentions. He will be the Jayhawks' first one-and-done player.

The 6-foot-6 guard was one of the most highly sought prospects in the country last year and left no doubt that he hoped to spend only one year in college. Henry averaged 13.4 points and 4.4 rebounds for the team that finished 32-3 and was ranked No. 1 most of the year.

Henry joins two other starters from the Big 12 champions who plan to enter the draft: senior guard Sherron Collins and junior center Cole Aldrich, who announced last week that he would skip his senior season.
