Car crash leads to arrest of man on charges of drugs, firearms and theft
A man who crashed into a gate with his car was arrested on 15 charges ranging from theft to possession of a firearm to promotion of detrimental drugs by police early this morning.
When police arrived at the scene at Nalanui Street in Kalihi at 4 a.m. they found the man slumped behind the wheel passed out, the engine still running and the car in reverse, police said. While police were removing the 31-year-old man from the vehicle, they discovered a pistol in plain view, a glass pipe with white residue, drugs in plastic bags and containers, a container of ammunition cartridges, and clear plastic bags containing white crystal substances, police said.
Also found were backpacks and fanny packs that contained information that the man allegedly said were not his.
Misifosa Fualaau was arrested for investigation of theft in the second degree, two counts of promotion of a dangers drug in the third degree, two counts of prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia, a felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of a ammunition, two counts of promotion of a detrimental drug in the third degree, unauthorized control of confidential personal information, miscellaneous public and possession of high-capacity detachable ammunition magazine, police said.
