A gun battle Tuesday night in Wahiawā that left three men injured was the second violent outburst at the home in a little more than a year.

The house at 133 Kīlea Place also was the scene of a home- invasion robbery on Feb. 17, 2009, involving four gunmen wearing black hooded jackets.

The latest incident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday when a car pulled up in front of the home and two men got out armed with handguns and plastic zip ties, police said.

The gunmen ordered two women, ages 26 and 24, and a 27-year-old man to go back in the house. A 28-year-old man who was told to remain outside began struggling with the two intruders when one of their guns went off, according to police.

During the fracas, one of the gunmen pointed his weapon at the 28-year-old, at which point the older of the two women came back out of the house and fired a single shot at the intruders, triggering an exchange of gunfire, police said.

The skirmish lasted a few seconds before the man and woman were able to retreat into their house while the two gunmen, one of them critically wounded, ran to a waiting silver Volkswagen Jetta and sped off.

Patrol officers stopped a vehicle on California Avenue about 2 1/4 miles away and arrested its three occupants on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder.

The driver of the car was identified as Robert Logsdon III, 31, of a Lumikula Street address in the Crestview area of Waipahu. One of the passengers, Floyd Orsborn, 23, of a Koauka Loop address in the Pearlridge area, was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds.

Another passenger, Shane Reginald Flores, 38, who did not furnish a local address, was taken to Queen's in stable condition with a single gunshot wound.

Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city Emergency Services Department, said a man who lives at the Kilea Place address was later taken in stable condition to a hospital, where he was treated for a single gunshot wound.

Police said that in the 2009 robbery, armed intruders tied up a man and a woman, both in their 20s, took items and money, then fled in the woman's car, which was later found abandoned on Mililani Cemetery Road.

Two of the three men arrested in connection with yesterday's incident have extensive criminal records, according to the Hawai'i Criminal Justice Data Center.

Flores was sentenced to up to 20 years in prison in December 1995 for manslaughter. He also has felony convictions for terroristic threatening, unlawful imprisonment and second- degree theft.

Logsdon's felony record includes multiple burglary convictions, most recently in 2002, and convictions for second- degree theft and multiple car break-ins.
