The furlough days that are going to soon be in effect will have a big impact on the students' learning. Teachers are already cramming as it is to teach students as much as they can, but the loss of instruction days will force both teachers and students to work even harder to meet the required standards.

The idea of students using this extra day to better their learning by doing hands-on work outside of the classroom sounds nice, but the reality is that it's just another day for students to party. Teachers will have to work extra hard to get students where they need to be and the students will have to be focused if they want to succeed in this time of crisis.

Although the furloughs may not seem like the best thing right now, it is also a test for teachers and students. It is a test of the effectiveness of the teacher, and the ability and discipline of the student. Despite all that is going on, both teachers and students must buckle down and work together to make progress in the classroom.
