Free seminar addresses multigenerational homes in Hawaii

Advertiser Staff

A free seminar on how to make your home comfortable and safe for multiple generations has been set for Oct. 3 at the Waioli Tea Room in Manoa.

“Planning for Your Accessible Multi-Generation Home” will be led by Bonnie Osaki, customer care director at Graham Builders, and Evan Fujimoto, Graham Builders vice president of operations.
The seminar will discuss:

  • Common issues that impact multigeneration homes,
  • Features of accessible homes and multigeneration homes,
  • Highlights from past multigeneration projects.

More than half of Graham Builders new clients are interested in multigenerational living options. Osaki is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist, a certification program administered by the National Association of Home Builders. That designation provides Osaki the insight into residential issues that face older adults.

The event is free but reservations are required. Call 593-2808, ext. 114 or e-mail bonnie@grahambuilders.com to RSVP. The seminar is from 9 to 11 a.m.; check-in begins at 8:30 a.m.
