NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The two oldest sons of slain NFL quarterback Steve McNair have gone to court seeking their share of his estate.
Steven L. McNair Jr. and Steven O'Bryan McNair filed their separate claims Thursday in the Probate Division of Davidson County Circuit Court.
McNair, who did not have a will, was shot to death by his girlfriend July 4 at a Nashville apartment. She then killed herself.
Mechelle McNair, the player's widow, and her two sons with Steve McNair also have retained attorneys. So far there have been no disputes among the parties over how the $19.6 million estate should be divided.
McNair spent most of his career with the Tennessee Titans and last played for the Baltimore Ravens.
