National bridal retail chain David's Bridal has opened a store in Pearl City, its first location in Hawai'i.

The store, one of the chain's 307 locations nationally, opened Saturday in the new Pearl City Gateway center on Kuala Street.

Aside from bridal gowns, the store offers a selection of bridal party and special occasion dresses, accessories, gifts and bridal services.

The store is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

ENERGY OFFICIAL ELECTED TO NATIONAL BOARD

Ted Peck, the state of Hawai'i's energy administrator, has been named secretary of the board of the National Association of State Energy Officials.

Peck was voted onto the board by energy officials from around the nation during the NASEO's annual meeting last week in Annapolis, Md.

"Being chosen to serve on the NASEO board is a reflection of the progress Hawai'i is making in reducing our dependence on imported oil and developing renewable energy that capitalizes on Hawai'i's abundant natural energy resources," Peck said.

Last October, Gov. Linda Lingle named Peck as the state's energy administrator. He is charged with working with all branches of government and the private sector to develop a policy strategy for achieving Hawai'i's goals of energy security and independence and renewable energy development.

NEW BRANCH FOR HAWAI'I NATIONAL BANK

Hawai'i National Bank opened a new branch today at the corner of Kapi'olani Boulevard and Pi'ikoi Street, which replaces the nearby Beretania Street branch.

The building housing the new branch will be renamed the Hawai'i National Bank Building, according to a news release from the bank.

Thomas Ishida has been named as assistant vice president and manager of the new branch. He previously served as assistant manager of Hawai'i National Bank's main branch on King Street in Downtown. Veronica Sonico, operations supervisor, and the rest of the staff will move from the Beretania Street location to the new branch.

Hours are from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday.
