Big Island man charged in double stabbling in Kona

HILO — Hawaii County police yesterday charged a 41-year-old Ocean View Man with attempted murder in connection with a double stabbing Saturday in Kona.
Sean Patrick Mitchell was charged with attempted second-degree murder, second-degree assault and third-degree criminal property damage.
Michell’s bail has been set at $106,000 and he remains in the Kona police cellblock pending arraignment.
Mitchell was arrested following a reported stabbing in a home in Captain Cook.
Police responded to a 2 a.m. call and found a 34-year-old man who had been stabbed multiple times about his face and body, and the man's 30-year-old girlfriend, who had been stabbed in a leg.
Both victims were taken to Kona Community Hospital, where they were treated and released.
