DALLAS— Shawn Marion is hoping Jason Kidd can turn him into an All-Star again.
Kidd was the point guard who helped break Marion into the league with Phoenix in 1999-2000. They spent two years together, then Kidd moved on while Marion blossomed into a four-time All-Star with the Suns.
Now they are reunited with the Dallas Mavericks. They were together as Mavs for the first time Monday at a news conference and will hit the practice floor together soon in preparation for the start of training camp next week.
Kidd said he’s looking forward to having Marion snatch rebounds and then get out on the fast break.
