California man arrested on meth-trafficking charge on Big Island

HILO — A 35-year-old California man was arrested and charged Monday with methamphetamine trafficking, Hawaii County police said.
Kauiokuualoha Hirakawa of La Mesa, Calif., was arrested after Hilo vice officers served a search warrant at his hotel room on Banyan Drive and recovered four ounces of crystal meth, or ice.
The drugs have a wholesale value of approximately $16,000 in Hawaii.
Hirakawa was charged with methamphetamine trafficking in the first degree and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $25,000.
