Two people were arrested yesterday evening after they allegedly beat a 16-year-old boy who they accused of eating too much of the food at a family dinner in Waimanalo.

Police were called to the home about 7:30 p.m. and arrested a 32-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man, whom they described as the boy’s relatives. Both were booked on suspicion of third-degree assault, a misdemeanor.
The boy told police the woman beat him repeatedly until the man joined in and choked him until he almost passed out.
Police went to the home and arrested the two suspects without further incident.
The two were released after posting $100 bail each.
