It's the Second Saturday of September, which means something special at the Hawai'i State Art Museum.

This month, members of the Hawai'i Craftsmen will offer hands-on arts demonstrations and provide activities so kids and adults can get in on the creative fun from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Today is also the last chance to see "He Aloa A He Alo: Face to Face, Visions and Portraits of Hawai'i," a show that includes more than 5,000 works of art from 1,400 Hawai'i-based artists, all of which celebrate both the subject and the artist. The installation's themes include rediscovering Hawaiian heritage, Asian roots, social consciousness and cultural traditions.
The Hawai'i State Art Museum, at 250 South Hotel St., is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and admission is free. For more information, call 586-0900 or visit www.hawaii.gov/sfca.
