On trail of the ‘Nocturnal Wanderer’
| |||
Gao Xingjian’s “Nocturnal Wanderer,” a nightmare in three parts, opens Earle Ernst Lab Theatre’s Late Night Theatre 2009-2010 series at 11 tonight.
The philosophic work, directed by Ronald Gilliam, is an abstract play incorporating multimedia, an original soundscape and magic tricks as it explores human existence and the afterlife primarily through the subconscious of Sleepwalker as his faith is tested, along with his desire to resist ungodly temptation.
The show, presented by the University of Hawaiçi-Mänoa Department of Theatre and Dance, will also be performed at 8 p.m. tomorrow, and at 11 p.m. Friday and Sept. 19. Tickets will be available one hour before the show for $10 general; $8 for UH faculty and staff, seniors and military and students; and $5 for UH students with validated ID.
