The two West Maui bays closed this morning due to the presence of two tiger sharks were reopened shortly after noon, Maui County aquatics chief Mary Kielty said in a news release.
Honolua Bay and neighboring Mokuleia Bay, on the Lahaina side of Honolua, were closed just before 10 a.m. after the sighting of two 12- to 16-foot tiger sharks, which appeared to be feeding on fish in the area. No injuries were reported.
