9/11 memorial ceremony scheduled tomorrow at Tamarind Park

The city will conduct a 9/11 remembrance ceremony tomorrow in Downtown Honolulu.
The event at Tamarind Park — marking the eighth anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon — begins at 11:15 a.m.
Messages from U.S. Sens. Daniel K. Inouye and Daniel Akaka and U.S. Reps. Neil abercrombie and Mazie Hirono will be read.
Mayor Mufi Hannemann will deliver remarks, followed by a prayer from Kahu Curt Kekuna of Kawaiahao Church and the playing of taps by Navy bugler Ivan Boshkovich.
Representing hawaii’s first responders will be members of the Honolulu Police Department, Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services.
