Obituary: Stan Hyman, baseball head coach at Western Illinois

MACOMB, Ill. — Western Illinois University says head baseball coach Stan Hyman has died after a monthlong battle with leukemia. He was 50.
A message posted on the school's Web site says Hyman died early Saturday at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
Hyman was head coach for the Leathernecks for eight seasons.
WIU athletics director Tim Van Alstine says Hyman revitalized the Leathernecks baseball program. He won his 350th career game in May against Centenary.
Before coming to Western Illinois, Hyman spent three seasons at Rutgers-Newark. He began his coaching career at Albright (Penn.) College.
Hyman is survived by his wife and three children.
A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday at Alfred D. Boyer Stadium.
