Waikiki visitor reports being robbed in Kapahulu

A visitor staying in Waikiki told police he was robbed early yesterday morning by a group of youths in Kapahulu.

The man, 26, said he left a Waikiki night spot and was walking back to his hotel when six to eight boys who appeared to be in their teens began to follow him.
The victim said he was intoxicated, lost his way and ended up in Kapahulu where the group of boys attacked him about 3:50 a.m.. One of the boys hit him with a skateboard while a second boy hit him with a scooter, the man said. He said he was able to break free of the group and ran to a residential area, where a resident called police.
The man was taken to The Queen’s Medical Center emergency room to be treated for unspecified injuries police said.
No arrests had been made in the case as of this morning.
