The American Cancer Society’s Boots on the Beach anniversary fundraiser has become an annual western-themed party where guests don cowboy outfits, hats and boots for cocktails and dinner, games, a silent auction and dancing to the music of Dita Holifield and the Red Handed Band.

Holifield, a cancer survivor, has earned the Patti Schuler Recognition Award for contributions to the American Cancer Society and the community.
Shine your boots by Oct. 24. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. in the Sheraton Waikiki Ballroom, with the dinner and program at 7. Tickets — $250-$10,000 — are available from the American Cancer Society by calling 595-7504.
