Kílauea lava still flowing down access road to ocean
Lava from Kílauea continued to flow onto the old Kalapana access road and into the ocean yesterday at Waikupanaha, west of Kalapana.
A narrow finger of lava traveled onto the road for about 200 yards, burning vegetation and pavement along the way, according to the U.S. Geological Survey Hawaiian Volcano Observatory Web site.
The recent lava activity is outside Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
