• Market City Shopping Center vice president Sandra Au Fong has received the 2009 Community Leader of the Year Award from the OCA Hawaii Chapter. The award recognizes local business leaders who have made significant contributions to Hawaii's community sectors.

The chapter also presented the 2009 Corporate Achievement Award to Kyo-ya Management Co. Ltd. executive vice president Ernest Nishizaki.

• John Au has received the Retirement Income Specialist designation from the Institute of Business & Finance. Au is a vice president at Chinen & Arinaga Financial Group Inc.

• The Hawaii State Bar Association has honored Elizabeth Paek, a local family law attorney. She volunteers as a mediator at the Mediation Center of the Pacific and is a member of the First Circuit Family Court Property Division Chart/Asset & Debt and Income & Expense committees.
