Shark sighting closes beach in Poipu area
A shark sighting has closed a portion of Poipu Beach on Kauai today fronting the Marriott Waiohi Beach Resort, officials said.
Lifeguards closed the beach after a diver spotted the 8-foot grey shark at 2:45 p.m. today, county officials said.
The Waiohai portion of the beach will remain closed through the remainder of today, officials said.
