SAN JOSE, Calif. — DeMaundray Woolridge scored on a 5-yard run with just over a minute to play to give Idaho a 29-25 victory over San Jose State tonight, ending a four-game losing streak to the Spartans.

The winning drive was directed by backup quarterback Brian Reader, who took over after starter Nathan Enderle threw his second interception of the fourth quarter.

Woolridge rushed for 93 yards and scored twice for the Vandals (5-1, 2-0 Western Athletic), who are seeking their first winning season in 10 years. Princeton McCarty rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown.

Trey Farquhar kicked three field goals, including a season-best 52 yards, as the Vandals survived four turnover, including their first lost fumble of the year, and 11 penalties for 113 yards.

Enderle finished with 216 yards on 14-of-26 passing.

Jordan La Secla threw for 299 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for another score for the Spartans (1-4, 0-1). Marquis Avery caught seven passes for 96 yards, including a 38-yard touchdown reception that helped tie the game at 22-22 early in the fourth quarter.

Duke Ihenacho intercepted a Enderle pass to set up Tyler Cope's go-ahead 20-yard field goal with 10:46 left, making it 25-22 San Jose State.

Tanner Burns also intercepted a pass for the Spartans, but Idaho held and took over on downs.

Reader completed his only pass for 11 yards and a crucial first down as McCarty and Woolridge ate up most of the yardage leading to the winning score at 1:10.

The Vandals gained a season high 501 yards of total offense as they doubled their conference win total of the previous two years combined.

La Secla was 31 of 43 with a pair of interceptions for the Spartans, who were limited to 48 rushing yards two weeks after rushing for 242 yards in a win over Cal Poly.

Kenneth Patten's interception in the final minute sealed the win for Idaho, which has won two consecutive road games for the first time since 1999.
