Queen Emma Summer Palace’s special day

If you spend some time today at the summer home of King Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma in Nu'uanu, you’ll find local food, a beer and wine garden, crafts, haku lei, native Hawaiian plants, baked goods, jam, jelly and chutney, presented by the Daughters of Hawai'i.

The 33rd annual Day at Queen Emma Summer Palace runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and features performances by Jerry Santos, Danny Couch, the Royal Hawaiian Band, Kualoa, two hula hälau and the Punahou Glee Club. Demonstrations include kuçi kalo, kapa making, quilting and feather lei making. There will also be a keiki craft corner and an opportunity to explore the grounds.
