Ed Kubo among Hawaii nominees to fill vacancy on First Circuit Court
Outgoing U.S. Attorney Ed Kubo Jr. is among six people nominated by a panel to fill a vacancy on the state First Circuit Court.
Gov. Linda Lingle is seeking public comment on the nominees before making a selection.
Kubo has been U.S. attorney since 2001. The U.S. Senate yesterday confirmed President Obama’s nominee, career federal prosecutor Florence “Flo” Nakakuni, to replace him.
The other nominees are District Judge Colette Y. Garibaldi, District Judge Edwin C. Nacino, and attorneys Steven M. Nakashima and Dean E. Ochiai, and Family Judge Bode A. Uale.
