After stellar seasons showcasing their all-around talents, 'Iolani's Mahina Haina and Hawai'i Baptist's Sarah Palmer were named Interscholastic League of Honolulu Girls Volleyball Players of the Year for Division I and Division II, respectively.

Haina, a 5-foot-11 senior outside hitter, showed marked improvement in her defensive game in helping the Raiders go 15-4 and finish third in Division I.

She is joined on the ILH DI all-star first team by fellow Raiders senior outside hitter Alissa Youart.

Kamehameha led the way with three first-team picks: senior outside hitter Taylor Akana, junior middle blocker Talia Jardin-Fermentez and sophomore outside hitter Misty Ma'a.

League champ Punahou placed seniors Juliana Behrens (outside hitter) and Malia Patterson (setter). Maryknoll senior libero Christina Chun rounds out the first team.

Kamehameha's Chris Blake was named Coach of the Year.

Palmer, a 5-11 outside hitter, was an all-around threat in helping HBA win its third straight DII title.

She is joined on the DII all-star first team by fellow Eagles C'era Oliveira (outside hitter, Sr.) and Kayla Kawamura (setter, Jr.).

Word of Life placed senior setter Phoibe Fotu and sophomore libero Alexis Villa. University junior middle blocker Quynne Eharis, St. Andrew's senior middle blocker Ayesha Hein and La Pietra senior setter Jordan Shroer round out the first team.

La Pietra's Kent Kim was named Coach of the Year.
