High surf advisory in effect, heavy showers expected tomorrow

The National Weather Service has issued a high surf advisory until tomorrow morning for the east-facing shores of O'ahu, Maui, the Big Island, Kaua'i, Molokai and Ni'ihau.
A cold low system in the middle atmosphere also is expected to bring heavy showers and possibly thunderstorms across the state tomorrow.
Rough and choppy surf are expected overnight from trade-driven winds and a swell coming from the north-northeast.
The high surf advisory will remain in effect until 6 a.m. tomorrow when waves are expected to reach six to eight feet.
