O'Neill World Cup of Surfing contest is on today at Sunset Beach

The second day of the O'Neill World Cup of Surfing men's contest is on today at Sunset Beach.

The competition is scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m. The completion of the first round and start of the second round are scheduled to run.

Hawai'i surfers expected to compete today include Sunny Garcia, Myles Padaca, Makuakai Rothman and Kai Barger.

The women's Gidget Pro is on standby for a possible start in the afternoon. If the Gidget Pro runs, it will crown a champion today.

Hawai'i surfers still in contention for the women's contest include Coco Ho, Melanie Bartels, Megan Abubo, Carissa Moore, Alana Blanchard, Bethany Hamilton and Malia Manuel.
