We have three new dramas starting this coming week and you will have to stay focused especially in the beginning while new characters are introduced to develop a storyline.

You'll have to keep up with the characters to follow the three dramas — "Love You 1,000 Times," "Angel's Temptation" and "He's Beautiful." "Angel's Temptation" is similar to the older drama "Lure of Wife," except a male version, while "He's Beautiful" is definitely eye candy for those who are fans of pretty boys. Here are the general synopses for the new dramas so you are not so lost in the beginning as you try to remember all the characters:

"LOVE YOU 1,000 TIMES"

6:45 p.m. Sundays

Known as "Cheon Man Bun Sarang-he" in Korea (the literal translation is "love you 10 million times), "Love You 1,000 Times" is slated for 50 episodes. The series started airing on Korea's SBS network in late August and, while boasting no mega stars, it has a unique and compelling storyline about surrogacy in Korea.

The drama revolves around Baek Se Hoon and his wife Lee Sun Young, who are not able to conceive a child. Se Hoon's mother schemes to get an heir to the family by telling Sun Young to pretend to be pregnant via artificial insemination from her husband, but really has Go Eun-nim as a surrogate mother. Eun-nim is cornered into this predicament because her father suddenly fell ill and needs surgery after a family financial crisis. Surrogacy will pay for her father's operation. This all happens with an intermediary broker who sets it all up with both parties in complete anonymity. Coincidentally, Eun-nim crosses paths with Se Hoon's younger brother Kang Ho from school and again later in the story. Eun-nim works at a restaurant and one day saves a child lost by his parents, not knowing it is her child. She ends up working for Se Hoon's company the same year Kang Ho starts work there. Love blossoms between Kang Ho and Eun-nim but her past will bring back the pain and challenge their love.

"ANGEL'S TEMPTATION"

7:45 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays

Written by the writer who wrote "Lure of Wife," "Angel's Temptation" tells the story of a man who's been betrayed by his wife.

Joo Aran is out to avenge her parents' deaths. In order to get closer to Shin Woo-sub, the man who's responsible for her parents' deaths, she marries his son Hyun-woo. With the help of Joo-seung, her lover and Shin's longtime family friend, she manages to deceive the Shins and marry Hyun-woo, the eldest son. But her revenge gets carried away and she ends up killing her husband. But her supposedly dead husband is actually alive, and he decides to become a new man (via total body plastic surgery) and get revenge on his vengeful wife.

"HE'S BEAUTIFUL"

7:45 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays

"He's Beautiful" is a drama about the making of a boy band, starring young Korean idols. The story is about a girl named Minyuh, whose life flips upside down when she is forced to pretend to be her twin brother, Minam. She is forced to remove herself from her safe life in a convent to fame as a member of one of Korea's most popular boy bands, A.N.JELL. She also ends up finding love, but she can't do anything about it because she is supposed to be a boy.

THIS WEEK'S K-DRAMA SYNOPSES

'SMILE, HONEY'

Episodes 5 and 6
Tonight at 7:45 p.m.: Junggyung and Hyunsu are shocked to see each other. But Junggyung soon gathers herself and begs Hyunsu to pretend not to know her. Junggil is upset that his "Driver Kang" would dare ask him to stay in a tiny little room. Manbok begs Junggil and his family to put up with the inconveniences until they leave for the States.

Tomorrow at 7:45 p.m.: Junggil's and Manbok's families have a farewell party the night before Junggil's departure, but Sungjun, Junggil's eldest son, comes back unannounced. The family is ecstatic and thinks their troubles are over, but Sungjunn tells them they can't go to the States.

'LOVE YOU 1,000 TIMES'

Episodes 1 and 2
Sunday at 6:45 p.m.: Eun-nim is a hardworking college student. Although she lost her mother early, she's happy with her dad, stepmom, Nan-jung (her stepsister) and Eun-jung, their younger sister. She's excited at the prospect of going back to school, but her dad collapses and Eun-nim and her family suddenly find themselves in a financial disaster.
Sunday at 7:45 p.m.: Eun-nim is devastated about her father's critical condition when a lady approaches her asking if she'd be interested in becoming a surrogate mother. Sun-young and her mother-in-law get the news that Sun-young is sterile.

'ANGEL'S TEMPTATION'

Episodes 1 and 2
Monday at 7:45 p.m.: Hyun-woo, a president of a furniture company, happily awaits Aran, his fiancee, to arrive at their wedding. But Aran is kidnapped by a group of mysterious men. Aran narrowly escapes and jumps into the pool, where her wedding is about to take place. Hyun-woo and Aran's wedding finally takes place, and Aran vows that she'll get revenge on Hyun-woo's father, who's responsible for her parents' deaths.
Tuesday at 7:45 p.m.: Hyun-woo walks in on Aran and Joo-seung in bed, but Aran's quick thinking gets them out of trouble. Woo-sub is startled by a threatening message sent to his cell phone. But things get worse when a picture of the dead foreman is sent to his office. Woo-sub asks Aran if her parents can bail out his furniture company.

'HE'S BEAUTIFUL'

Episodes 1 and 2
Wednesday at 7:45 p.m.: Hoon watches Minyuh from church, then follows her. Minyuh was on her way to the travel agency to pick up her plane ticket to Rome but notices that Hoon is following her and tries to run away. Hoon stops her and asks if she can pretend to be her twin brother, Minam, until he gets back. President Ahn chooses Minam as the new member of A.N.JELL.
Thursday at 7:45 p.m.: Minam meant to apologize to Taekyung but causes more problems. Minam's head starts to bleed after getting hit by the trophy. Reporters ask what happened, and Minam says that it wasn't Taekyung who hurt him. The reporters, however, misunderstand Minam and report that Taekyung has violated Minam. President Ahn moves Minam's appearance up so that the bad rumors could stop.
