Decathlon: Ukraine's Kasyanov, Yosypenko lead Hypo Meeting

GOETZIS, Austria — Oleksiy Kasyanov and Lyudmyla Yosypenko gave Ukraine an early lead Saturday after the opening day of the Hypo Meeting.
Kasyanaov gained 4,461 points from the first five disciplines of the men's decathlon to lead Trey Hardee of the United States by 70 points.
Yosypenko had personal-best results in three of the four events - 200 meters, high jump and shot put - to lead the women's heptathlon with 3,840 points.
World record-holder Roman Sebrle of the Czech Republic, a five-time winner at the event, was fifth. He trails Kasyanov by 204 points.
Olympic champion Bryan Clay of the United States skipped the event.
