L&L will celebrate again with 76-cent plate lunches
L&L Drive-Inn and L&L Hawaiian Barbecue are expecting large crowds when they bring back their 76-cent plate lunch and 10-cent Pepsi drinks on June 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ke'eaumoku Street location.
The annual event commemorates the opening of the first L&L Drive-Inn in 1976. Last year's meal deal drew about 2,000 customers, some of which stood in line as early as 5:30 a.m.
The first 10 customers in line will receive a month's supply of Pepsi, and the first 100 will receive a free L&L T-shirt.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to Goodwill Industries of Hawaii.
"This will be our fourth year doing this event," said Eddie Flores Jr., president and CEO of L&L. "We do this to thank our loyal customers and to give back to the community, especially now with higher unemployment rates and the tough economy."
