Streets lights to be replaced along Lunalilo Home Road
The city is replacing street lights on Lunalilo Home Road, from Kalaniana'ole Highway to Hawai'i Kai Drive, the Hannemann administration announced.
The first phase of the project will replace 144 street lights from Kalaniana'ole to Ko'amano Street. The cost is $1.96 million.
The second phase, covering 32 lights, will go from Ko'amano to Hawai'i Kai Drive. The cost for this phase is $500,000.
Completion of the entire project is scheduled for March 2010.
"The public is well aware of the tremendous amount of infrastructure work this administration is doing, from fixing sewers to repaving roads," Mayor Mufi Hannemann said in a news release. "Upgrading street lights is another important aspect of these investments in our future. We ask for residents' patience during the construction."
