Kauai County debuts mobile stage for Visitor Industry Charity Walk

Advertiser Staff

LIHUE — The interior roadway fronting the Historic County Building will be closed today to Monday due to setting up of the mobile stage and preparations for the Visitor Industry Charity Walk.

Anyone stopping by the Historic County Building on those days can use designated parking spaces along nearby streets and at the Lihue Civic Center.
A blessing of the mobile stage will be held this morning. The stage will be used for the first time during tomorrow’s Charity Walk.
The 14-foot by 36-foot hydraulically actuated stage is made of steel, and can be set up in less than an hour, substantially less time and manpower than what’s required to set up the county’s wooden stages.
Other features include two stairways with handrails, a hydraulic lift at the back of the stage, acoustical panels, and a rugged, all weather construction.
The mobile stage was recently purchased for use during major county events, including those that are part of the Kaua'i Festivals Program.
