A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of burglary after the victim's son confronted the boy who had taken his mother's purse in Makiki.

The boy allegedly entered the 50-year-old woman's apartment in Makiki Friday night and took her purse, Honolulu police said.

Her son saw the boy in the parking lot, confronted him and the burglar dropped the purse and ran, police said.

Police later found the boy and arrested him.
