Chaminade, Hawaii-Hilo split PacWest doubleheader

Chasity Senas batted 4 for 4, including an RBI single with one out in the bottom of the ninth, as Chaminade beat Hawai'i-Hilo, 3-2, yesterday to salvage a split of a Pacific West Conference softball doubleheader at Central O'ahu Regional Park.
Erin Keelan opened the ninth with a triple to right. After a groundout, Senas singled to left to win it for the Silverswords (4-16, 3-5). Angel Mahaulu homered for Chaminade. Christina Pedroza had three hits and Nicole Alconcel homered for the Vulcans (14-11, 7-6).
In the opener, Amber Waracka pitched a three-hitter with four strikeouts, and Sarah Weisskopf had three hits, including a three-run homer, as Hilo won 12-0 in a game shortened to five innings by the mercy rule.
Pedroza added three hits and two RBIs, and Jessica Schatz drove in three runs for the Vulcans.
