HARTFORD, Conn. — The Connecticut men's basketball team still hopes for a top seed in the NCAA tournament.

That's despite its six-overtime loss to Syracuse in the quarterfinals of the Big East tourney.

The pairings for the NCAA tournament will be announced at 6 p.m. Sunday.

UConn is ranked third in the country, with 27 wins and four losses. But three of those defeats have come after Feb. 11, when the Huskies lost starting guard Jerome Dyson for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

Connecticut, which won national championships in 1999 and 2004, has not won a postseason game since 2006, when they beat Washington in overtime in the NCAA regional semifinals.
