LOS ANGELES — Jayne Appel was double-teamed, so Stanford went deep.

Nnemkadi Ogwumike had 15 points, Lindy La Rocque added a career-high 12 and No. 2 Stanford took advantage of some solid long-range shooting to cruise past Arizona, 77-46, in a quarterfinal game of the Pac-10 tournament last night.

Stanford will face UCLA in today's semifinal.

Appel, Stanford's leading scorer with 15.4 points, was limited to four points on 2-of-7 shooting. With their post player receiving pressure, the top-seeded Cardinal were able to hit open 3-pointers to beat Arizona for the third time this season.

"We came in expecting that they would double," Appel said. "We were looking to pass out right away. That was part of our game plan."

The freshman La Rocque, who matched a career high with four 3-pointers for the Cardinal (27-4), had nine points in the first half during a decisive 18-3 run that put Stanford, which finished with 10 3-pointers, ahead for good.

Baskets were tough to come by for the ninth-seeded Wildcats (12-19), who couldn't overcome a 21-point halftime deficit.

Atonye Nyingifa had 18 points and 10 rebounds to help the fourth-seeded UCLA Bruins (19-11) rally past fifth-seeded Oregon State, 62-56, in last night's final quarterfinal game.

NO. 12 CALIFORNIA 61, WASHINGTON 41

Ashley Walker had 14 points and 10 rebounds, and the second-seeded Bears (25-5) raced to a 31-17 halftime lead, and led by as many as 29 in the second half in rolling past the 10th-seeded Huskies (8-22) to advance to the semifinals against Southern California.

SOUTHERN CAL 70, NO. 16 ARIZONA STATE 65

Heather Oliver scored 17 points, Camille LeNoir had 18 points and eight assists, and the sixth-seeded Trojans (16-14) made 10 3-pointers to beat the third-seeded Sun Devils (23-8) for the first time in the last seven meetings.

Courtney Paris scored a season-high 27 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and blocked six shots, and the top-seeded Sooners (28-3) used a 15-4 run early in the second half to pull away from the eighth-seeded Jayhawks (18-13) and move into today's semifinals against No. 10 Texas A&M.

NO. 7 BAYLOR 67, OKLAHOMA STATE 62

Jessica Morrow and Melissa Jones each scored 15 points and the second-seeded Lady Bears (25-5) rallied from a 43-28 deficit with 16:33 left, allowing just two free throws in the final five minutes to beat the 10th-seeded Cowgirls (16-15) and advance to the semifinals against No. 18 Iowa State.

NO. 10 TEXAS A&M 63, NO. 22 KANSAS STATE 61

Danielle Gant had 22 points and 14 rebounds, and scored on a layup with 25.3 seconds left for a 63-61 lead as the fourth-seeded Aggies (24-6) held off the fifth-seeded Wildcats (24-7) when Ashley Sweat, who scored 19 points, missed a last-second 10-footer that would have forced overtime.

Kelsey Bolte hit a go-ahead jumper in the final minute for a 54-52 lead, then had a steal which led to two free throws by Alsion Lacey for a 56-52 cushion as the third-seeded Cyclones (24-7) held off the sixth-seeded Longhorns (21-11).
