A 19-year-old Kailua man was at The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition today after an early-morning crash on Kalaniana'ole Highway just south of Old Kalaniana'ole Road, police said.

Police said the man was southbound in a 1996 Toyota SUV at 3 a.m. in the rain when he crossed the center line, hit a guard rail and the vehicle rolled over. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was partially ejected from the vehicle.

Speed and alcohol were apparent factors, police said.
