Field hockey: U.S., Canada to play Pan American field hockey final

SANTIAGO, Chile — The United States defeated Chile 2-1 in field hockey Saturday and will play Canada in the final of the Pan American Cup.
Defending champion Canada upset Argentina 4-3 in overtime in the other semifinal to reach Sunday's title game. Chile and Argentina will meet for third place. The tournament champion will qualify for the 2010 world championship in India.
The United States was led by goals from Patrick Harris and William Cota. Alexis Berczelly scored for Chile.
Canada and Argentina were tied 3-3 after regular time before Grimes Connor scored the winner. Mark Pearson, Deol Ranjeev and Ben Martin also scored for Canada. For Argentina, Pedro Ibarra scored twice and Juan Ignacio Gilardi once.
