Warriors hire new girls water polo coach

Former University of Hawai'i water polo player Jenai Yoshii has been named head coach of girls water polo at Kamehameha Schools.
Yoshii coached on the collegiate level last season,, assisting at nationally ranked women's water polo and swimming programs at Sierra College (Rocklin, Calif.).
Before playing at Hawai'i, Yoshii was a California Community College All-American as a member of the 1998-2000 Sierra College water polo team.
She has more than eight years coaching experience.

KAMEHAMEHA-HAWAI'I TAKES AWARD
Kamehameha Schools- Hawai'i has been named a recipient of the Honoring the Game Award issued by Positive Coaching Alliance for its work in creating a positive environment for youth athletes.
The award goes to schools or organizations serving athletes of high school age or younger that embody Positive Coaching Alliance principles in using sports to teach life lessons. Honoring the Game Award winners will be recognized at the National Youth Sports Awards on April 24 at Stanford University.

CHANG, HANOHANO GET NATIONAL HONORS
Hawai'i Baptist senior Kelly Chang and St. Joseph senior Chelbie-Lyn Hanohano received Academic All-America honors from http://www.PrepVolleyball.com.
The site is considered to be a leading source for high school volleyball news.
Chang was named to the All-Academic fourth team. The 5-foot-2 libero played a vital part in Hawai'i Baptist's five-set win over Word of Life for the Division II state title in November. She had 35 digs, nine assists, two aces and one reception error in helping the Eagles defend their Division II state title. Chang was selected to The Honolulu Advertiser All-State first team. She has a 3.81 grade point average, is the president of the school's National Honor Society and will play collegiately at Nevada.
Hanohano, a 5-9 outside hitter who received highest honorable mention honors, has been been St. Joseph's co-captain since her freshman year and has served as the school's class president all four years. Hanohano has a 3.53 grade point average and finished the year with 348 kills, 245 digs and 42 aces.
