Motorcyclist who died on Sunday is identified

The Honolulu Medical Examiner's office has identified the 82-year-old Kaneohe man who died while motorcycle riding near the Dillingham Airfield on Sunday as Santos Ranis Sr.
Ranis was riding his 2008 black Triumph motorcycle on the service road near the airport maintenance hangars on Sunday at 1 p.m., police said. He failed to make a turn, lost control and was thrown from his bike.
He was taken to The Queen's Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 8:17 p.m., police said.
The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
