HONOLULU JAPANESE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce has named Wayne Ishihara as president. An active member of the organization for 30 years, he recently retired as a senior vice president at American Savings Bank.

He has been an active member of the Japan-American Society of Hawaii board of trustees; is a former chairman of the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii board; and is a past president of the Honolulu Japanese Junior Chamber of Commerce and Hawaii Jaycees.

ATLAS INSURANCE AGENCY

Atlas Insurance Agency Inc. has appointed both Carol Davis and Matthew Liew as vice presidents in its Client Consulting Group. Irlene Torres was appointed assistant vice president, information services.

Davis will focus on new sales and servicing of commercial clients with an emphasis on healthcare, nonprofit organizations and schools.

Liew will focus on new sales and servicing of commercial clients.

Torres will supervise and manage the company's information system involving agency and data management, business processes and help desk services.

APPN INC.

Steven Cardenas has been appointed accounting manager of APPN Inc., parent company of Attention Plus Care. He previously held the same position with Prospect Asset Management, an investment advisory firm.

Krista Groothuis has been appointed sales and marketing manager with APPN Inc. She previously worked as marketing project director at SMS Research & Marketing in Honolulu.

LAW FIRM OF JARED N. KAWASHIMA

Jared Kawashima, former partner at Ning, Lilly & Jones, has opened his own law firm, The Law Firm of Jared N. Kawashima, specializing in trust and estate litigation.

QMANIA

Jansen Tanaka is the new Hawai'i district manager of Qmania, a Web site that connects deal-seeking consumers with promotion-minded businesses.

He is a former promotions manager for Tantriq Entertainment, and was a mortgage solicitor with Graham Mortgages.

BANK OF HAWAII

Bank of Hawaii has promoted the following:

Senior vice president John Sheather of Saipan to deputy division manager; he was formerly Pacific Islands Division regional manager.

Vincent Barfield to executive vice president of the Commercial Banking Group, overseeing the commercial real estate loan division.

Ronald Cannoles to executive vice president and manager of the bank's Pacific Islands Division.

Erlinda Alegre to senior vice president. She succeeds Cannoles as Pacific Islands Division retail and operations manager.

Cannoles succeeds James Polk, who will oversee corporate banking, large ticket and leverage leasing, dealer flooring and dealer indirect, and the Hawaii commercial banking centers.

MCDONALD'S

McDonald's Restaurants of Hawaii has promoted Kelly Burgett to operations consultant. His responsibilities will include leading, coaching and providing direction to the group of restaurants he oversees.

Burgett began as a McDonald's crew person more than 30 years ago. He has worked his way up through the ranks.
