The voyaging canoe Hokulea's planned departure for Palmyra Atoll was canceled again today.

The crew has been trying to launch since last weekend but winds and bad weather have delayed the 1,000-mile trip south, which is expected to last eight to 10 days.

Non-instrument navigators need clear skies to set their initial course.
