Hawai'i's Bryan Clay is nominated for an ESPY Award in the male Olympian category. The Castle High graduate is one of more than 30 Olympians and Paralympians up for ESPYs. Michael Phelps, who has won 14 Olympic gold medals in swimming, leads the nominations with four.

Clay won the gold in decathlon in Beijing, after capturing silver in 2004. Others in his category are two-time 2008 Olympic gold medalist track athletes LaShawn Merritt and Angelo Taylor, and Phelps.
