Three 'Bows water polo All-Americans

Three University of Hawai'i women's water polo players earned Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches All-America honors.
Senior Kelly Mason was named to the first team for the second year in a row.
Leonie Van Der Molen was named to the third team and fellow sophomore Dagmar Genee was named honorable mention.
"It's a great honor for Kelly, Leonie and Dagmar," UH head coach Michel Roy said. "They all had unbelievable seasons and helped lead us to the NCAA Championship. I'm proud of them."
Van Der Molen is coming off an outstanding season in which she was named to the NCAA Championship All-Tournament team.
Genee scored four goals in three games in the NCAA tournament.
BASEBALL
WONG HONORED
University of Hawai'i freshman outfielder Kolten Wong has earned American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings second-team all-West Region honors, the association announced yesterday.
Wong, who is currently in Cary, N.C., for the USA Baseball National Team Trials, started all 58 games for the Rainbows this past season. He batted .341 with 11 home runs, 21 doubles, two triples, 52 RBIs, 46 runs and 11 stolen bases.
Earlier, Wong was named the Western Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year, and chosen to several All-America freshman teams.
GOLF
AKUTSU, CHAN WIN
Mikiya Akutsu of Japan and Lorens Chan of Honolulu earned berths to the USGA Junior Amateur Championship following a two-day qualifier yesterday at Mauna Lani on the Big Island.
Akutsu shot 70—144 and Chan 75—147 to qualify for the national event, which will be held July 20 to 25 in Bedminster, N.J.
Alika Bell (80—148) is the first alternate and Justin Keiley (76—150) claimed the second alternate spot after beating Thomas Yamashita (78—150) in a playoff.
